As far back as I can remember, I loved talking and telling my stories. One of my fondest memories is a squirrel hunting expedition with my grandfather when I was four years old. I chattered away, until he told me, "Baby Cricket, you've got to be quiet. The squirrels can hear you." I sat silent for about 30 seconds, then said, "Oh, PaPaw, let me talk." I still tell stories now; I just write them out instead of talking them out. Well, according to my husband, I still talk them out -- a lot. So many more things to write about since I was four years old. Marriage, children, homes, jobs, grandchildren, all kinds of people. I love people!

A Snippet from Behind the Keyboard

There are days your Favorite Storyteller should never sit behind the Keyboard. Today is one of those days. The day started with breakfast, sitting behind said Keyboard, then progressed to physical therapy, still somewhat behind the Keyboard. It was just an evaluation visit, so not much real work. PT in and of itself isn’t a … Continue reading A Snippet from Behind the Keyboard

Swing, Episode 4, Jerry’s Grand Vision

It’s been awhile since we watched Jerry and Swing and their friends repair all his worn out parts. While I’ve been sick, and not on the scene, Jerry has had me by one hand and Swing by the other pulling me back to the Wood. They have whispered, cajoled, and plain begged me to tell … Continue reading Swing, Episode 4, Jerry’s Grand Vision

Update from Alma

I made a personal commitment to myself and my followers to post an adventure every week. I hope it's not too early to beg your grace this week. Last night, I broke through my emotional wall which has been building over the last three weeks. I realized just how close I came to dying, and … Continue reading Update from Alma

Lost Track of Time

I think it's been over a week and a half that Alma has been in the hospital now, and most of that time has been in ICU. That is still her world as of today, although the isolation order was lifted, so we don't have to wear masks the entire time we're with her now. … Continue reading Lost Track of Time
