As far back as I can remember, I loved talking and telling my stories. One of my fondest memories is a squirrel hunting expedition with my grandfather when I was four years old. I chattered away, until he told me, "Baby Cricket, you've got to be quiet. The squirrels can hear you." I sat silent for about 30 seconds, then said, "Oh, PaPaw, let me talk." I still tell stories now; I just write them out instead of talking them out. Well, according to my husband, I still talk them out -- a lot. So many more things to write about since I was four years old. Marriage, children, homes, jobs, grandchildren, all kinds of people. I love people!

Footsteps

Photo by Cagatay Orhan on Unsplash It isn’t often I get the chance to just walk, you know, for pleasure. It seems there’s always an agenda, either mine or someone else's. Fifth Night

Kidney function made a great leap forward in today's lab work. The liver is also doing fine. There were some abnormal numbers initially, but … Continue reading Fifth Night

Swing, Episode 3

Kate has her interest in Swing piqued by Jerry, who is excited to recruit a new friend to help Swing.   The next morning, Jenny and Kate were sitting outside in their backyard, eating donuts and talking about Jenny’s date. “Oh, Bobby’s okay,” Jenny said. “A little too bookish for me, if you know what … Continue reading Swing, Episode 3

Fourth Night in Hospital

https://youtu.be/T0ip40j82ws Why is life so messy, why is pain a part of us? Alma is struggling still. Tonight, even though she is talking plainly, and moving her arms and legs, she is so miserable. It is almost 3 in the morning. An oxygen line is tight against her neck, draped around her ears, and going … Continue reading Fourth Night in Hospital
